Peri-operative Physician & Geriatrician
Dr Ming Loh specialises in preparing patients for surgery and providing care for patients in the postoperative period from the recovery bay to the transition to rehabilitation hospitals.
Dr Ming Loh is a Geriatrician specialising in the care of older patients undergoing surgery and is an inaugural member of the Chapter of Perioperative Medicine (Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists).
He is a former federal councillor for the Australian and New Zealand Society of Geriatric Medicine (ANZSGM) and is the author of the ANZSGM Perioperative Medicine Position Statement. He has formerly chaired the Agency for Clinical Innovation Hip Fracture Clinical Advisory Group and has been the Royal Australian College of Physicians representative for the Perioperative Special Interest Group (ANZCA). Dr Loh has held committee positions at the Clinical Excellence Commission and NSW Health Value Based Healthcare initiative and was the Clinical Lead for the Orthogeriatric Service at Westmead Hospital. He now works exclusively at the Northern Beaches Hospital.
Dr Loh graduated from the University of New South Wales (MBBS BSc) in 2000 with and completed geriatric specialty training at Westmead Hospital and Prince of Wales Hospital. He received his Fellowship in Geriatric Medicine in 2010.
Dr Loh is currently receiving referrals for preoperative assessments from referring surgeons and general practitioners.
